How Does Nature Communicate With Us?

5957669_sThe way in which humanity communicates with Nature is different from the way in which we communicate with each other.  I’ve been reflecting on it and have come to understand that when we connect and communicate with Nature, it is through a subtle body level of communication. I can only guess that this is how we communicated with each other before we developed our verbal abilities.

This non-verbal form of communication is a sense of knowing, of understanding, of feeling, of inferring information. It’s like a thought that comes to mind, or an emotion we experience; or sometimes it is a visual unfolding as if in a movie.

The other day, I held the first of what I hope will be many Attunement calls. In our Attunement work we connect with the energies of Nature; plants, trees, animals, the wind, the sun; and we move through several different ways of connecting and interacting. During our first call, which was a Pine Tree Attunement, we started by connecting with the energy of Pine Needles – although we weren’t around pine needles, our exploration was to see what we could experience by connecting with them energetically. Participants reported feeling refreshed, renewed and cleansed. Similar to what we experience when we inhale the beautiful and powerful scent of fresh Pine Needles in a forest.

We moved from there to explore the predominant energy of Pine Trees, which is a combination of support, guidance and wisdom. I mentioned during the call that often when I go outside to walk around our property, I’ll be focused on a thought or whatever task I’m outside to accomplish and frequently, I’ll get brushed on the head by one of our Pine Trees. This ‘brushing’ always sends a wave of guidance, of support, sometimes of humor and always of love through my body. Pine Trees hold the title of oldest living tree on the planet. Some of the Bristle Cone Pines are more than 5000 years old with a tree named Methuselah being the oldest known.

During the call we connected with Methuselah. It was here that Nature’s message to me really started to surface. When I work with people, I am as much interested in what each person experiences as I am in gathering the overall messages and insights that come through the work we do as a collectives.  I’ve spoken in the past that my gift isn’t in being clairvoyant, as I believe we all have access to our higher senses, rather my gift is in the way I use my clairvoyance. I am a collector of knowledge and messages. I am a weaver of insight, and I put the puzzle pieces together.

Nature shared a big piece of the puzzle while participants shared their experience of connecting with Methuselah. Each, including myself, spoke of how we didn’t really have a conversation ‘per se’ but rather we felt a conversation; or we ‘just knew’ the information that was coming. We acknowledged that we were communicating, but in a very different way. In past classes where I’ve worked with people using this form of connecting – we’ve connected with deceased loved ones, with unborn babies, with our angels and with our Spirit helpers; the conversations have been conversations. ‘They said this, I said this.’ But in this work, it was this ‘other’ form of communication. Not Telepathy, because the mind wasn’t necessarily involved. I can only describe it as a subtle body form of communication sending information, knowingness and feelings through the energy channels of our bodies. In yoga, we are taught that the body has thousands of energy lines called Nadi and Spiritual Artist Alex Grey has painted these channels for years. If you haven’t seen his work, check out this one called Spiritual Energy System – it will give you a great idea of what the Nadi look like and help you better understand how Nature communicates with us through these channels.

In hindsight, this is what I’ve been doing with the Nature Mandalas and their Messages From Nature for almost two years now. Nature has been sending its guidance and wisdom through me to share, but I never stopped to think about ‘how’ that was happening.

After this Attunement call, it is clear to me that Nature has its very own way of communicating with us and this is how it does it. This is how it communicates with each element in Nature – through subtle body communication.

I’ve found myself reflecting on this and wondering what would happen if all of humanity consciously remembered our ability to communicate in this way? The messages that flow through these channels are pure, clear and direct. The ego and mind aren’t or don’t get involved. What would our world be like? How much more peaceful and gentle would it be?

I hope that more of you will attend the next Attunement call that is offered. Some of you felt, ‘well, I can just do that on my own.’ And of course you can, but there is something unique that happens when we work in a group.  In a group environment, Nature guides me in working with you in different ways, in ways that typically you would never consider to explore on your own. Plus, when we work together in a group, our energy is amplified. Not only do we benefit individually, but we benefit as a whole (the ONE) and the benefit to the Universe is also amplified.

Nature is calling to us to create new ways of remembering what we once knew. Nature is holding out its hand and inviting us to take bigger steps, to delve deeper, to connect more richly. The question is, how many of us will accept that invitation?

There is so much to remember and all of it will help us grow and evolve.
